
The applicant must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for a student loan:
- Four semesters or
- Six quarters or -
-Have acquired 48 semester hours of credit or its equivalent in quarter hours
*Students at Bismarck State College, Medcenter One College of Nursing or The University of Mary need have attended only two semesters or three quarters or have acquired 24 semester hours of credit or its quarter hour equivalent.
Eligible students may obtain loan applications from the registrar or student loan officer of Bismarck State College, Medcenter One College of Nursing or any four year college or university in North Dakota, by filling out the preliminary application on this website or by writing to:
The loan recipient, along with a co-signer, will be asked to sign a promissory note providing for repayment in monthly installments commencing one year after the student graduates or discontinues his or her education, with interest at the rate of 5% per annum beginning immediately. There is no origination or other fee. Loan funds are dispensed about September 1st.
Loan applications will be judged on the basis of the need for financial assistance by a committee of three members.
Deadline is usually June 1st but depending upon available funds, applications may be accepted at other times of the year. Please make personal contact with request after this date.
